Short version: rateway.net holds very little about you, and this page says exactly what.

Data we hold

Nothing is collected from you deliberately. The web server writes an access log as every web server does: which page, when, from what browser, arriving from where, with the address shortened. Email you send is retained with your address so a reply can be sent.

Cookies on this site

We set no cookie to follow you. The software behind the site sets one only if you comment or sign in as staff. Cookies from the third parties described below are theirs, not ours.

Amazon and your data

Our product links are tagged and lead to Amazon. Following one tells Amazon where you came from, and Amazon may set its own cookies. What happens after that is covered by Amazon’s privacy notice. We receive sales figures only — no names, no addresses.

Counting visits

We may use an analytics service to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us how many people arrived and from where; it does not tell us who you are.

Your choices

Turn cookies off if you prefer; nothing here breaks. Under the GDPR, under UK law and under California law you may ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Send that request to [email protected].

Children

Nothing here is directed at children, and we do not knowingly gather data about anyone under the age at which consent is required where they live.
