How to Choose the Right BOSS Android Stereo
Check Smartphone Compatibility
You must verify which smartphone ecosystems the unit supports. The BV9358B offers Apple CarPlay integration, which helps you use your phone’s apps on the car display. This feature is essential if you rely on navigation or music streaming from your mobile device. You should confirm that the operating system you use is listed in the specifications. Without this support, you lose the convenience of mirroring your phone’s interface directly to the stereo screen for safer driving.
Verify Included Camera
Check if the package includes a backup camera. The BVCP9700A-C comes with a backup camera, which aids in reversing safely. If you do not need this feature, the BV9358B provides a simpler setup. You should decide if you want an all-in-one solution or prefer to buy a camera separately. The inclusion of the camera simplifies installation by reducing the number of separate components you need to wire and mount in your vehicle's dashboard area.
Assess Control Method
Look at how you will interact with the device. The BVCP9700A-C uses a touchscreen control method, allowing you to tap and swipe directly on the display. This is convenient for adjusting volume or changing tracks without taking your hands off the wheel for long. You should ensure the screen responds well to your touch. A responsive touchscreen makes navigating menus faster and more intuitive compared to using physical buttons alone.
Review Connectivity Options
Determine if you need wireless features. The BVCP9700A-C supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling wireless audio streaming and hands-free calls. This removes the need for physical cables between your phone and the stereo. You should check if your phone supports the same Bluetooth version for optimal performance. Wireless connectivity reduces clutter in your cabin and allows you to connect multiple devices easily without manual pairing every time you enter the car.
Match DIN Size
Ensure the stereo fits your dashboard slot. Both models are double DIN size, which is a standard format for many modern vehicles. You must measure your dashboard opening to confirm compatibility. A double DIN unit is taller than a single DIN, so you need sufficient vertical space. If your car has a single DIN slot, neither of these options will fit without a custom adapter or modification to the dashboard structure.
